Dialogue entitled: (International humanitarian intervention between the principle of respect for sovereignty and the protection of human rights)
A dialogue was held on Wednesday morning, January 3, 2024, entitled:
(International humanitarian intervention between the principle of respecting sovereignty and protecting human rights).
This dialogue was chaired by Dr. Nasr Al-Ghoul, a faculty member at the college’s Department of Political Science, where he addressed many aspects related to the topic, the most important of which are:
1_International humanitarian intervention: its concept/pretexts/image/development.
2_International humanitarian intervention between legality and illegality.
3_How did the development of interest in protecting human rights lead to a decline in the principle of state sovereignty?
4_The emergence of the principle of the responsibility to protect as an alternative to international humanitarian intervention and the conditions for implementing and applying this principle and its foundations.
5_Some notes on practical models for applying the principle of the responsibility to protect.
There was participation by Dr. Ali Al-Dhuwaib, considering that his thesis goes to the heart of this topic.
The dialogue was attended by the dean of the college, heads of scientific departments, the coordinator of the quality and performance evaluation department at the college, and a number of faculty members and students.
